Welcome!
Gaia Community is an earth-based, pagan Unitarian Universalist congregation meeting in Shawnee Mission, KS. We meet every Sunday at 4 p.m. Each week we present either a participatory pagan ritual, a discussion forum, or a class. We also offer KidSpace, our children's program, during the service.
We welcome all who share our values and our commitments, regardless of age, race, color, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual or affectional orientation, or disability.
Above you see the food and goods donated to Harvesters by our community at 2011's God Auction. The total weight was recorded as 1,033 pounds! That's enough to provide 795 meals!

Ritual Teams Meeting

Anyone who has successfully completed the Excellence in Ritual course and wishes to attend this meeting or serve on Ritual Teams should contact the Ritual Teams Coordinator.
Women's Full Moon Ritual
Sun, 07/17/2011 - 9:34am — Jamie PetersThe Women's Full Moon Covenant Group plans and conducts Full Moon rituals on the Saturday closest to the Full Moon, to celebrate the goddess both within and without. These rituals are open to all women in the general community regardless of spiritual or religious preference. We consider a woman to be one who is at least 13 years old, one who has achieved menarche, and one who has the interest and maturity needed to attend a formal ritual. In addition, transwomen are welcome.
Celebrating the Child Within and Without

As is traditional at Gaia Community, Kidspace will present this annual ritual. The ritual will include a blessing of new young ones. It will also celebrate the religious growth of all the Kidspace children, including the awarding of Chalice Pins to those who have earned them. Come prepared to leave your worries and adult preoccupations behind and give and receive blessings with our Gaia youth.

Special Ritual for Business (with tour beforehand)
Thu, 01/19/2012 - 9:29pm — webmasterGaia Community has an opportunity to become part-owner of a green, progressive community center in the urban core! The current owner of the property at 4327 Troost Ave wishes to form an LLC partnership among like-minded groups, and members of the Site Committee have been talking with her for several months. At the January 2012 Ritual for Business it was decided that we had enough information to go forward with a proposal to use our New Home Fund to purchase a 25% stake in the "Ubuntu Village" Limited Liability Corporation, which would run both 4327 Troost and 4329 Troost.
