Gaia Community is an earth-based, pagan Unitarian Universalist congregation meeting in Shawnee Mission, KS. We meet every Sunday at 4 p.m. Each week we present either a participatory pagan ritual, a discussion forum, or a class. We also offer drumming and dancing beginning at 3:30, and KidSpace, our children's program, during the service.
We welcome all who share our values and our commitments, regardless of age, race, color, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual or affectional orientation, or disability.

Gaia Community's annual elections are coming up at the April Ritual for Business, which is April 10, 2010, at 9:30 AM. The Nominating Committee wants you to know how it works and what positions are open. Please read on for information you can use!
Voting:
Any full active member (you must be up to date on your pledge; ask John if you're not sure) may vote in the election. You do not have to be present at the RfB to vote; you may cast an absentee ballot.
Elected Positions:
Please keep in mind that 'flu season' is upon us; we've made a few small changes to how we'll be presenting ritual for the next few months, but we also ask all of you to do your part to help slow down the transmission of colds and flu-like diseases. As much as we'd like your company, we'll all be better off in the long run if we don't pass these germs around the community like the offering plate.
Kansas Health officials recommend that you not attend public events unless you have been fever-free (without the use of medicine) for at least 24 hours. We're being stricter yet with KidSpace, because the kids are even better at 'sharing' than the adults! As of October 10th, if your child is sick or feverish they will not be allowed to attend Gaia Community until they meet the same guideline as above. This is a standard precaution at daycares and public schools, which we adopted at the Ritual for Business. If you have questions about this, please contact your child's teacher for more details.
Gaia Community's New Member Classes are held in three independent sessions. The classes are held monthly on a rotating basis. In order to become a member, you must take all three sessions, but you can take them in any order you like.
History of the UUA and Gaia Community will be held in January, April, and September.
All About Gaia (Mostly) will be held in February, May, and October.
Mock Ritual for Business will be held in March, June, and November.
The first six new member classes of 2010 are as follows:
History of the UUA and Gaia Community: January 10 and April 18
All About Gaia (Mostly): February 21 and May 9
