Happy New Year, Gaians and Friends! We're weathering the cold with the warmth of community and some hot discussions this month (and probably some warm tea as well). The UUA is starting a new cycle of Social Witness in 2010, and we have the opportunity to help guide the denomination in its efforts. Check out this month's Earth Healer newsletter for all the details. We've got some great rituals and a forum planned for January, designed to bring us together and help us define and refine who we are and what we stand for: January 3 features a ritual about community, inspired by the prophetic words of Dr. Seuss; January 10 we celebrate the young folks in the community in a ritual designed and put on by the kids and teens; January 17 we will be honoring our patron Thoth and the community's teachers; January 24 will bring us a discussion about our Mission Covenant and how it addresses the spectrum of gender identity and expression; and January 31, we'll celebrate Imbolc! Also, for those thinking of joining the community as a member, or for those who are just curious about the congregation, we are offering a New Member Class on January 10, before the service. For more information about all that's going on this month, check the Earth Healer or the Community Calendar. Stay warm, and we'll see you soon!
