High Holiday: Imbolc: This Sunday we celebrate Imbolc, and anticipate the return of the light.
Since this is a high holiday, we will be having potluck after ritual, so please bring a dish, drink, or dessert to share that can serve 8 hungry celebrants. To maintain our commitment to care for the earth, please bring reusable plates, cups, and utensils.
Friday Night Supper Club: This month we will be meeting at El Salvadoreno, 7926 Santa Fe Dr., Overland Park, KS 66204, at 6:30 PM.
Special RFB: There will be a Special Ritual for Business on Saturday, February 18th at 1:00p.m. to determine whether or not Gaia Community should join in an LLC partnership to run 4327-4329 Troost as a community center, rental space, and green ‘hub’ of the urban core. This would, not coincidentally, provide us with space of our own for Gaia to operate out of, instead of continuing to rent space from others.
The meeting will take place at the proposed site, 4327 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64110, with a walk-through of the building beforehand starting at noon. We do not know how long this meeting will last since consensus can take a while to achieve, but we have the space until 5:00p.m. We believe there will be childcare onsite (4329 is a licensed daycare facility) but have not confirmed it as of this writing.
Ritual for Business: As always, the minutes from the most recent Ritual for Business, as well as several previous RfB's, are available in the pink folder on the Greeter's Table. Minutes are also available on the website.
Set-Up (and Tear-Down) Assistance is much appreciated on Sundays by the team of the day. If you can come at 2 PM or stay after ritual to help move chairs, please do so!
Help Reuse these items! Linda is looking for several items for craft projects: toilet paper and paper towel tubes, industrial size tin cans, pail-type ice cream containers, kitty litter tubs with lids, scrap fabric, and egg cartons.
You can get involved! Gaia's committees always welcome enthusiastic folks with new ideas and energy. To find out how you can help, check out the committees section of the website. You do not have to be a member to serve on a committee.
Furthermore, Ritual Teams wants YOU to tell them if you would like to be involved in ritual. Contact David, the RTC, to get more info.
Comments or Concerns? If you have any comments or concerns about rituals, please contact the Ritual Teams Coordinator, David. If you have a general comment or concern, please contact the Ombudsman, Kit, or any of the trustees at large (Cheryl, Cynthia, and Linda), who can be reached through the board's collective email.
