The Site Committee has identified a property for sale in eastern KCMO that may be within our means and meet our needs for a site of our very own. This page will summarize some of the discussion going on with regards to that site; for full details you should contact the Committee (particularly Lizzy), or attend one of the meetings mentioned below.
Synopsis
The property is a former Masonic Lodge, recently remodeled but outgrown and currently shuttered. It is located at 1127 Belmont Ave., in a primarily residential area of KCMO (zoned R2B).

Positives
These are not necessarily comprehensive, just a summary of what has been identified so far. They may also contradict other items, of course, due to variance of opinion.
- Second floor was specifically designed for ceremonial worship, and is large and open.
- Kitchen was recently remodeled, and has most of the appliances still in it.
- Elevator on site provides access for those with difficulty on stairs.
- Easy access to I-435 and I-70, as well as midtown KCMO.
- Masonic ownership/construction means the building should be extremely well-built.
- Price is extremely reasonable.
Negatives
These are not necessarily comprehensive, just a summary of what has been identified so far. They may also contradict other items, of course, due to variance of opinion.
- Basement will need extensive remodeling.
- Property has no 'green space'; closest park is about 5 blocks east.
- The parking lot is limited in size (18 cars or so); street parking is somewhat limited.
- There is an elevator, however it is not currently certified for use.
- KidSpace classrooms would have to be 'carved out', as there are none currently. Office space is also undefined at present.
